What paver cleaning and sealing costs in Central Florida, and why cheap jobs go cloudy.

Typical paver sealing prices in Orlando and Central Florida: cleaning only vs clean, sand and seal, per square foot rates, what a driveway, patio or pool deck costs, and the shortcuts that leave pavers white and hazy. · 4 minute read

The short answer

Cleaning, re-sanding and sealing pavers in Central Florida runs about $1.50 to $3.00 per square foot, with most quality jobs near $2.00. Cleaning only, no seal, runs about $0.30 to $0.50 per square foot. Minimums apply because sealing is a two visit process.

What that means per job

A 600 square foot paver patio or pool deck: roughly $900 to $1,200 to clean, sand and seal. A 1,200 square foot paver driveway: roughly $2,400. Cleaning only on that same driveway: about $400. A seal lasts about three years in Florida sun, so the per-year cost of a sealed driveway is less than it looks.

What a proper job includes

A deep clean with mildew and efflorescence treatment, joints cleared, fresh silica sand swept in and compacted, then sealer applied only once the pavers are fully dry. A natural, satin or wet look finish by your choice, and a guarantee against cloudy or white sealer.

Why cheap jobs go cloudy

Sealing damp pavers traps moisture under the sealer and turns it white and hazy within weeks. Using play sand instead of silica means the joints wash out in the first storm. Skipping the mildew treatment seals the algae in. Each shortcut saves the crew an hour and costs you the job.

Pool decks

Pool deck pavers see chlorine, sunscreen and constant water. They get a sealer with grip, not a wet look that turns slick. A sealed deck is also far easier to keep clean between visits.

What to ask before you book

Is the sand silica? Do you wait for the pavers to dry before sealing, even if it means a second trip? What is the guarantee if it goes cloudy? Then text a photo of the pavers to (321) 450-4586 or see our paver cleaning and sealing page.

Questions

Questions people ask about this.

How long does paver sealer last in Florida?

About three years on a driveway in full sun, longer on a shaded patio. Pavers tell you when it is time: the color dulls and water stops beading.

Can I just pressure wash my pavers?

A surface cleaner at the right pressure is fine for cleaning, but pressure blows the joint sand out. Pavers that are cleaned should be re-sanded, which is why cleaning only is priced with sanding in mind.

Can cloudy sealer be fixed?

Usually. White haze can often be stripped or corrected. It is quoted after we see it.
